The electronic products from Alarm Lock can get confusing with all the features and options. We've organized these choices for you to make them easier to understand and order. The most confusing of the options is the keyed cylinder option. There are 2 types: KO = standard cylinder IC = interchangeable core cyclinder The KO cylinder is the easiest to order. This is a standard cylinder already installed into the lever of the lock. IC cylinders are much more complex because nearly every brand of IC core is different from the other brands. At a quick glance, these figure 8 cores look very similar. Each manufacturer has made thier IC core unique, however. While each resembles a figure 8, you need to think of Schlage as a rectancgle, Yale as a triangle, Sargent as an oval, etc. Thinking of each brand this way makes it easier to realize each brand is very different from each other. The exceptions to this rule are IC cores from Best, Arrow and Falcon. Their IC cores can interchange with each other. An Arrow IC core will fit a Falcon lock, for example. If you don't have a preference for cylinders simply order the KO option. It is the least expensive and causes you the fewest problems. If you feel you want to use an IC core but have no brand preference, then select the ''IC'' option for Best, Arrow and Falcon. It is the least expensive of the IC core options and Arrow cores are typically less expensive than the other brand cores.
