A Mexican Red-Crowned Amazon parrot checks out the night sounds coming from a small village on the Yucatán. The Red-crowned Amazon is an endangered Amazon parrot native to northeast Mexico. The current native wild population of between 1,000 and 2,000 is decreasing.
