Ordinary tap water in the U.S. is perfectly safe to drink, but consumers often think it tastes "funny" or "bad". Sometimes people even say it smells "strange". The elements in tap water vary from area to area all over the country, but one of the main elements that greatly affect the taste of tap water is chlorine.

The Fit & Fresh LivPURE Filter uses a two-stage filtration process to make ordinary tap water taste like bottled water.

In the first stage of the Fit & Fresh LivPURE filtration process, the water passes through a Granular Activated Carbon filter media. The carbon works like a sponge removing up to 50% of the chlorine from up to 75 gallons of water. Most people agree removing chlorine helps to make the water smell and taste better. You will get at least the equivalent of 500 bottles worth of purified water!! That’s 500 bottles that won’t find its way into a landfill.

The second stage of the two-stage process inhibits the growth of bacteria that may have found its way into your water. As I said before, water coming from your tap is generally safe to drink. However, once a typical filter is exposed to water, bacteria are introduced to the system through air, contaminated surfaces and the act of drinking itself. Sitting at your desk at work or on your nightstand, these bacteria will grow at an exponential rate (for non-scientists, that means "very fast"). The Fit & Fresh LivPURE Filter offers anti-microbial protection to inhibit the growth of several common bacteria, within the filter, by suppressing the food source these bacteria need to survive.
