DESCRIPTION: Fine to medium texture. Hard, but works pretty well: does not splinter, etc. Very durable & gorgeous. Dark violet brown or a lighter tan brown with dark streaks and stripes - somewhat rosewood like. Dust may be an irritant to some people. COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Tropical South America, primarily southern Brazil and Bolivia. BOTANICAL NAME: Machaerium scleroxylon USES: Musical instruments, furniture, cabinets, flooring, turning, accessories. Also known as Bolivian Rosewood. SIZES: The stock is surfaced on two sides to 13/16" thickness by 4" & wider by 36"-59" in lengths. NOTE: Widths & lengths may vary up to 1/16" of an inch.
