DESCRIPTION: Creamy white with a reddish tinge & usually has a straight grain, sometimes curly or wavy. Fine brown growth rings give an attractive figure on plain sawn surfaces. Rays are longer than in Soft Maple. Texture is fine and even. Weight averages about 45lbs per cu. ft. Wavy or curly grains require a reduced cutting angle. Pre-drilling required for nailing and screwing. Takes stain, glue & polish satisfactorily. USES: Suitable for furniture, joinery, sporting goods, piano actions, paneling, plywood, veneering. Excellent for turning. SIZES: Grade: Select & Better. The stock is rough & kiln dried. The thickness would be 1 1/2" & the widths run 5"-8" & the lengths run 36"-96" NOTE: Widths & lengths may vary up to 1/16" of an inch.
