DESCRIPTION: Aniegre heartwood is cream to tan with a pinkish tinge. Grain is usually straight, sometimes wavy. It's texture is medium to coarse in lighter grades and fine in heavier grades. The wood is lustrous, with a cedar-like scent and is silicious. Weight varies from about 30lbs to 36lbs per cu. ft. COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Africa BOTANICAL NAME: Aningeria spp. WORKING PROPERTIES: Moderate to severe blunting effect on cutters due to silica content. Good nailing, screwing, gluing and staining characteristics. Polishes to a very good finish. USES: Furniture, cabinet work, high-class joinery, general utility and interior purposes, plywood, veneering. SIZES: The stock is surfaced on two sides to 1 3/4" thickness & kiln dried. The widths run 5"-8" & the lengths run 36"-96". The stock is figured & fiddleback. NOTE: Widths & lengths may vary up to 1/16" of an inch.
