"I have always thought of Jerry Reed as Chet Atkins... chicken fried. He is cut from the same genius cloth, but there is something else stirring in the gumbo. Chet knew it, and saw to it that the world would have an opportunity to know it too. I grew up watching countless guitar players pick up a guitar fully intending to demonstrate a "Jerry Reed like" part only to watch the attempt settle in defeat with the phrase, "Well you know what I'm talking about." Most of us players are busted down to "guitar holders" or "guitar owners" when the man is in the room.

Three things I can tell you about Jerry Reed:
  One: Believe it or not, he only has ten fingers... I counted them.
  Two: Go toe to toe with him on guitar and you'll be counted out.
  Three: The man has an enormous heart, and you can count on that!"
