"This is a high honor for me to be able to record with my friend and mentor. Dwayne Friend became my friend when we first met just a few years ago. We both share the same major influence in our playing, Chet Atkins - however Dwayne has won his share of accolades also. He is a three-time Dove Award winner - two for "Instrumentalist of the Year" and one for "Song of the Year". How's that for starters? Dwayne and I decided quite some time ago that we wanted to record together, so we finally decided to do an album of old hymns that we played while we were growing up. There was a lot of electricity in the air while we were recording. Just the presence of "Mr. Gospel Guitar" seemed to take all of the musicians to a higher level all the way through the project.
