"I first heard Marcel Dadi when Stanley Mills, a publisher from New York, brought me one of his albums. He said; "This guy likes you a lot and I thought you'd enjoy this album". I listened to it and of course I was impressed. Marcel, as I've said many times, had a very healthy thumb on his right hand. He had a good beat, like Merle Travis, Thom Bresh and other people. So I played Scandinavia, and when we got through, we went down to Paris for a holiday. We looked his number up in the phone book and called him and came to the hotel and we had a good visit. Then later on we became better acquainted. Through him I met a lot of other guitarists from France and all over Europe. It was nice. He was a great fellow and a good player and a lot of fun to be around. He was very funny and entertaining sort of guy. We played the Olympia and I was best man at his wedding. That was quite an honor. I miss Marcel a lot as everybody does, I'm sure, and I wish his wife and kiddies well." -- Chet Atkins, c.g.p. - September 1997
