This interactive program was developed by Dr. Mary Ann Block to help students of all ages learn. It is often assumed that all students by the age of five or six have completed the development of skills needed to be successful in school. However this skill development is not automatic and does not occur magically by a certain age. Some students are not prepared for learning in a structured classroom situation and this can affect their entire educational careers. The Learn-How-To-Learn Program provides activities to help develop the necessary skills for learning. Dr. Block has identified what she considers the best of established developmental activities, and converted them for home use in an easy to follow, enjoyable program. The activities in the program are designed to be skill-specific and challenging to the students who have not yet developed the ability to do the activity. Mozart For Learning Audio CD
Music has been shown to have a positive effect on people. Some research has shown that people who listen to music by Mozart can feel more relaxed and may even learn easier.

It appears that the optimum effect of music occurs while actually listening to it. That is why Dr. Block recommends listening to music by Mozart while reading, studying, and doing other learning activities. To help the students concentrate better, Dr. Block recommends that her patients listen to Mozart using ear phones to block out outside noises to reduce distractions. Many parents have reported that homework time is cut in half. Parents like using the cd for their reading and work as well. Other classical music may have the same effect.

The Learning Stone

How to "Hold on to what you learn."
Many children who have difficulties learning in school are tactile learners -- they learn best through touching. Yet learning in school is often taught primarily through their auditory and visual senses (listening to the teacher and looking at the board).

These children often need tactile stimulation to help them learn through their other senses. This means they may need something to touch while they are looking and listening.
