What is labradorite?
Labradorite is a feldspar mineral that is found in Labrador, Canada. It has been called firestone because of its iridescence. It is the provincial mineral for Newfoundland and Labrador. In the 1700s people would grind it into a powder and drink it, thinking that it would heal them from their ailments. It is said that labradorite balances metabolism and sharpens the mind. It helps to build self-esteem and brings out the best qualities in its wearer.
How to Care for labradorite: Avoid using ultrasonic cleaners and steamers on labradorite. Also avoid chemicals, heat and scratches. The best way to clean your piece is with some light soap and warm water.
