FAQ

Here are some answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about cryogenically treated brake rotors. Many of you may have specific questions regarding your application needs and we encourage you to contact our technical team at techsupport@icerotors.com to provide the answers needed to make your visit to our site a pleasant experience.

1) What does Cryogenic Treatment do for my rotors?

Cryogenic treatment by ICERotors will increase the usable life of brake rotors by up-to 6 times and typically increases the life of brake pads by 30% up to 80%

2) Do I need special brake pads?

No need for special brake pads. All brand name brake pads will work fine and they will actually last longer.

3) Can you cryogenically treat my used rotors?

It is NOT recommended and we, here at ICERotors, will only treat new rotors. Cryogenic treatment of used rotors is not a recommended procedure as internal micro cracks may have already started.

4) Can you treat my high-performance forged rotors?

Unlike other cryogenic treatment facilities, ICE, using our proprietary material specific treatment programming, is able to effectively treat high-end, forged rotors. The material in forged rotors is already very well structured, however, due to our unique, dry and slow process, we still achieve significant gains in performance and life of forged rotors.

5) How do you ship the treated rotors?

Unless specified otherwise, we will ship rotors via UPS Ground service.

6) Can I send my new rotors for cryogenic treatment?

Yes, absolutely. However, if you have not, yet, purchased a new set of rotors, let us quote you on a set of new ICERotors. They are already treated, fully guaranteed and it would most likely be less expensive compared to shipping your rotors to our treatment facility. Contact our sales team (sales@icerotors.com) to get a quote for a set of ICERotors to fit your application.

7) If I want to send my rotors for treatment, what is the cost?

The cost for cryogenic treatment is $29 per car rotors weighing up to 15lbs and $39 per performance, car & SUV rotor weighing 16lbs and up. Truck rotors are $65 per rotor. Customer is responsible for the shipping to our facility and a FLAT SHIPPING CHARGE OF $10.00 per rotor (shipping within the continental USA; Other rates apply outside this area.)

8) How long does it take for the rotors to be cryogenically treated at your facility?

Our computerized, dry treatment process takes about three(3) days. Please remember to add shipping time, but typically, if we receive the products by Thursday, they will be shipped back to you on the following Monday

9) Is this legal in the SCCA or any of the other sanctioning bodies?

Yes, the use of cryogenically treated rotors is legal in SCCA and in other sanctioning bodies such as PCA Club Racing and BMW Club Racing.
