great feature of a data cable is the Sync capability which allows you
to sync your contacts which you may have on Microsoft Outlook or other

business number, fax number, email address, web address. That much data
would take far too long to enter manually.

There
are two main types of data cables on the market; serial and USB.
Serial you may know as "com port". That is the older type
of connection found on most, but not all desktop computers and very
rarely found on laptop computers of this decade. Thus we tend to
focus on the USB style cable. It has faster data transfer rates
and also is compatible with all computers with USB ports which are
practically every computer out today.

real beauty of all this is that today many cell phone carriers have
unlimited data plans. With an unlimited data plan you can connect
and always be on line and download all you want! Check with you
specific carrier for details first.

case phones that are 3G enabled have the faster data rate speeds whereas
the 2G units do not.
